Text: | He Is Reigning in My Heart |
Author: | Mrs. J. I. McClelland |
Tune: | [On the throne of His Father above] |
Composer: | J. Lincoln Hall |
1 On the throne of His Father above,
He is seated today, One I love;
What a mystery there of His grace,
For He reigns in my heart’s dwelling place.
Refrain:
He is reigning in my heart,
He is reigning in my heart;
On my journey as I go,
‘Tis a glorious thing to know
He is reigning in my heart.
2 As I yield Him the sceptre each day,
O’er my life Jesus takes loving sway;
Cares and trials and burdens all prove
His eternal compassionate love. [Refrain]
3 When temptations come in like a flood,
There is shelter for me, thro’ His blood;
For the Spirit of God has control,
Since my Saviour is King of my soul. [Refrain]
4 O so tender a Ruler is He,
Loving sinners like you and like me;
Weak and helpless, I rest in His power,
For He reigns in my life ev’ry hour. [Refrain]
