29. God Has Blotted Them Out

1 My sins became so heavy,
My soul was filled with dread,
I sought the blessed Bible,
And this is what I read:—

Refrain:
God has blotted them out,
I’m happy, glad and free;
God has blotted them out,
I’ll turn to Isaiah and see,
Chapter forty-four,
Twenty-two and three;
He’s blotted them out,
And now I can shout,
For that means me.

2 My God will not remember,
The sins He blotted out,
It is no cause for wonder
That in my joy I shout:— [Refrain]

3 O sinner, why not take it,
To you the promise giv’n,
Will make your life a blessing,
And earth seem more like heav’n. [Refrain]
