397. O sinner, heed the voice of God

1 O sinner, heed the voice of God,
It speaks to you to-day,
And calls you by his sacred word
From sin's destructive way.

2 It bids you turn to him, and live
Through his abounding grace;
His mercy will the guilt forgive
Of those who seek his face.

3 Bow to the scepter of his word,
Renouncing every sin:
Submit to him, your sovereign Lord,
And bid him reign within.
