1 Hear the tidings blest;
earth's remotest nation!
God's own Son hath died to save you;
Satan shall no more enslave you;
Liberty and rest!
Near the tidings blest!

2 Look to him and live!
He rejecteth never!
Did he once his life-blood offer?
Doth he now salvation proffer?
Can his word deceive?
Look to him and live!

3 Trust no other name!
He alone redeemeth!
God o'er all, and blest forever,
Suff'ring, dying, changing never;
Now and e'er the same;
Trust no other name!

4 Hasten, Lord, that day!
Give our eyes to witness
Bowing ev'ry knee, confessing
Ev'ry tongue--all nature blessing
Thy unbounded sway;
