Tune: | LUTHER SEMINARY |
Composer: | John Dahle, 1853 - 1931 |
1 Lord of the everlasting light,
Let shine on these today
A guiding beam, to lead aright
Their feet along the way.
2 Anoint them freely with thy grace,
That gladly they may share
Earth's many joys, and bravely face
The burdens they must bear.
3 O, may they ever turn to thee
As Father and as Friend;
Secure in thy infinity
Until the journey's end. A-men.
4 And when, beyond the dusk of time,
They greet the dawn above,
O give them, in that blessèd clime,
Thy endlessness of love.
Amen.
