Text: | The Way is Bright |
Author: | Sallie Keep Best |
Tune: | ['Tis a bright and pleasant path where with Christ we roam] |
Composer: | J. N. McHose |
1 ‘Tis a bright and pleasant path where with Christ we roam,
There are flowers bright, there is golden light;
If we follow where He leads He will bring us home,
Ere the darkness of the night.
Refrain:
Oh, the way is bright and clear if we keep our Savior near,
To the journey’s end
He will be our friend;
We may walk without a fear, with a friend so dear,
For our steps He will attend.
2 Thro’ the green and shady dells we will with Him go,
All the happy day He will lead the way,
Where the cool and limpid wells for the thirsty flow,
And the sparkling fountains play. [Refrain]
3 All our sorrow, pain and care will our Savior share,
With His guiding hand ‘tis a joyful band,
We will swiftly march along with a song and prayer,
Till we reach that happy land. [Refrain]
