82. The glory of conquest! be valiant, my brothers

1 The glory of conquest! be valiant, my brothers,
And march with your Captain alway;
Put on the whole armor, press manfully forward,
To stand in the midst of the fray.

Refrain:
Praise God, it is coming, is coming, is coming,—
The glad time that’s promised to be!
When earth shall be covered with heavenly knowledge
Like the waters that cover the sea.

2 The glory of conquest! His flag is uplifted
In glorious triumph to wave;
The young are arising in numbers surprising,
Their trust in the Mighty to save.[Refrain]

3 The glory of conquest! still battle for Jesus
With banner of crimson unfurled;
By earnest endeavor for Christ, your Redeemer,
You surely shall conquer the world.[Refrain]

4 Press on, valiant soldiers! some beautiful morning
In byways now dreary and dim,
The light shall be glowing, and you shall be knowing
The glory of conquest through Him! [Refrain]
