1 Come, Holy Spirit,
Comforter bless’d!
Give to my weary heart
Sweet peace and rest;
Naught of myself would I,
To Thee alone I fly,
Heed Thou my humble cry—
Come, Spirit, Come!

2 Come, Holy Spirit,
Teacher divine!
Lead in the way of truth
This heart of mine;
I am so slow to learn,
So prone from Thee to turn,
Yet for Thy grace I yearn—
Come, Spirit, Come!

3 Come, Holy Spirit,
Heavenly Guide!
Ever direct my path,
Be near my side;
Dangers beset the way,
Foes threaten night and day,
Keep, lest from Thee I stray—
Come, Spirit, Come!

4 Come, Holy Spirit,
My All in All!
Thou canst supply each need,
Or great or small;
Thou art a loving Friend,
Ever my way attend,
And from all ill defend—
Come, Spirit, Come!
