99. Father, We Adore Thee

1 Father, before thee we come to adore thee,
To thee our hearts in devotion we raise;
Upward ascending, our glad voices blending,
Rise on the air in an anthem of praise.

Refrain:
Kingdoms and pow’r, and glory divine,
Blessing and honor, forever be thine;
Earth’s songs re-echo the voice of thy love,
Joining her strains with the chorus above.

2 While thou wert keeping thy watch o’er our sleeping;
Safely we rested, upheld by thine arm;
When came the dawning so fair of the morning,
Still thou wert with us to shield us from harm. [Refrain]

3 Grant us thy blessing, as humbly confessing,
Pardon we ask through the Savior alone;
Then shall the voice of happy rejoicing,
Echo in music around the great throne. [Refrain]
