62. Let Me Tarry at the Fountain

1 As weary I wandered o’er this toilsome way,
I see a fountain pure and free;
A fount where all may cool their thirst,
A fountain at Jesus’ feet.

Refrain:
Let me tarry
Let me tarry
At the fountain where the sparkling water freely flows;
In the presence of my Savior may I always stay,
Drinking deep of the fount of life.

2 The conflicts of life, and all the weight of care,
Would overcome my weary soul,
But for the fount where I may go,
That Christ may make me whole. [Refrain]

3 In heav’n with my Savior I shall always live,
And drink that water evermore;
I then shall never thirst again.
But live on that golden shore. [Refrain]
