1 Give me thy heart, O wayward child,
Cease from thy wand’rings, lone and wild,
Long hast thou lived in sin and strife,
“Come unto me” for love and life.

Start from the kingdom of pardon and love,
Haste the new life to begin.

2 Give me thy heart, O sinful one,
Doubt not the truth of God’s own Son,
Never will he a soul deceive,

3 Give me thy heart, back-slidden soul,
Under Christ’s flag again enroll,
Penitent hearts he’ll free from stain,
Angels will welcome them again. [Refrain]
