4. The Message of Salvation

1 There’s a message of salvation,
Unto ev’ry tribe and nation,
It is sent from heav’n, the blessed home above,
To the heavy laden calling,
Mid the shadows darkly falling,
“Come to me and rest,” the words are breathed in love.

Refrain:
Jesus came to earth to save you,
And His precious life He gave you,
Now He calls you, will you come?
In His heart there still is room.

2 Jesus says “I’ll ne’er forsake you,
When temptations overtake you,
I will keep you, I will guide you with mine eye,”
Till life’s close the way He’ll brighten,
All your pathway He will lighten,
Till He calls you home to glory by and by. [Refrain]

3 When to Him for counsel turning,
With our lamps all trimmed and burning,
We are ready for the Bridegroom as we wait,
And with rapture we will greet Him,
When at last His own shall meet Him,
Not one trusting soul shall hear the words “Too late!” [Refrain]
