PLIII | The Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs of the Old and New Testament, faithully translated into English metre#PLIV | PLV |
Text: | A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came, and said to Saul "Doth not David hide himself with us?" |
1 O save me by thy name, O GOD,
and judge me by thy pow'r.
2 O GOD, now to my pray'r give ear,
and hear in this sad hour.
3 For strangers whom I never wrong'd,
yet up against me rise:
My soul, oppressors seek, who GOD
set not before their eyes. (Selah.)
4 Lo GOD my help, the Lord with those
who do my soul sustain:
5 My foes he'll justly recompence,
Them in thy truth restrain.
6 Then I to Thee shall sacrifice
With grateful willingness:
Yea LORD, because 'tis good, I will
with praise thy name confess.
7 For thou hast me delivered
from all adversities;
And may mine eyes see my desire
upon mine enemies.
