Notes: |
The tune JESU DULCIS MEMORIA, which for some evokes associations with Jesus’ life and passion, is
an unusual choice for a psalm about looming trouble. Nevertheless, it allows for a hushed, contemplative
approach to this poignant text, and its associations remind us that healing and resolution to trouble come
through Jesus. Instead of the accompaniment provided, the plainsong melody may be accompanied by a
sustained hum on the pitches C and G. |
