359. World-Wide Prohibition

1 The order has gone forth- "Move forward!"
Gird on the armor and away!
In columns firm and strong advancing,
On to the front without delay!
On to the front! oh, be up and away!
Let not the din of strife o'erwhelm thee;
Let not the enemy alarm,
For lo, there goeth on before thee,
One able to defend from harm.

Chorus:
To the front, O soldiers brave, (be brave,)
There's a world from drink to save; (to save;)
Then fight for world-wide prohibition,
For world-wide prohibition.

2 From far and near the cry rings- "Help us!"
Behold, the moment is at hand
When ev'ry loyal christian soldier
Should hear and heed the Lord's demand,
Should hear the Lord, for He speaks to command!
For Satan's strong-holds must be taken;
His idols must be overthrown;
Let ev'ry volunteer awaken,
And make the temp'rance cause his own. [Chorus]

3 Before thine eyes a mighty army
Goes marching onward to the grave;
And will ye see them pressing forward,
Nor reach a helping hand to save,
Nor reach a hand to deliver and save?
From o'er the waters, too, comes ringing
The pleading Macedonian cry;
O Christian, rouse ye from thy slumber,
And answer "Master, here am I." [Chorus]
