Text: | We Will Lift Up Jesus |
Author: | Mrs. C. H. M. |
Tune: | [As the brazen serpent in the wilderness] |
Composer: | Mrs. C. H. Morris |
1 As the brazen serpent in the wilderness,
Moses once uplifted, dying souls to bless:
So we lift up Jesus to the sons of men,
Bidding dying sinners look and live again.
Chorus:
We will lift up Jesus to a dying world,
Tho' the darts of Satan 'gainst us may be hurled;
For the bread of heaven millions starve and die,
We will lift up Jesus as the days go by.
2 Adam's sinful fall has ruined all our race,
And the world needs Jesus and His saving grace;
Needs the peace and comfort which He can bestow,
Needs the blood which washes whiter than the snow. [Chorus]
3 To our great commission we will dare be true,
Preaching full salvation as He'd have us do;
He alone can save and wholly sanctify,
So we lift up Jesus as the days go by. [Chorus]
