64. The Open Fountain

1 Opened in the house of David,
For uncleanness and for sin,
Is a wondrous fount of healing,
Millions now have entered in.
Here the sin-sick, lost and wretched,
Here the halt and maim’d and blind,
Plunge into the living waters
And a perfect cleansing find.

Refrain:
Let the cleansing blood flow over thee,
It will surely all sufficient be;
Whiter than the snow it maketh thee,
Hallelujah! Praise the Lord.

2 Still there’s virtue in the fountain,
Still there’s healing in the blood;
Tho’ your sins be like a mountain,
Plunge into the crimson flood;
Sinking deeper in his mercy,
Ev’ry burden on him roll;
Then go forth to tell the story
A redeem’d and ransom’d soul. [Refrain]

3 Tho’ the love of God is boundless,
Tho’ his grace is full and free;
If you still reject his mercy,
Naught of good it brings to thee.
Unto all who will accept him,
Life and love are freely giv’n;
But to those who still reject him,
Banishment from Christ and heav’n. [Refrain]
