75. Shining for Thee

1 There’s a light at the portal of mercy tonight,
That shines, weary trav’ler, for thee;
And, if thou wilt turn and behold it tonight,
The way to the cross thou wilt see.

Turn to the light that shineth so bright,

The lamp thy Redeemer has placed at the gate
Is shining, still shining for thee.

2 There is light in the ark of salvation tonight,
And room in its shelter for thee;
Make haste and be there, weary trav’ler, tonight,
Where safe from the storm thou wilt be. [Refrain]

3 There is light in the house of thy Father tonight:
Then why at a distance art thou,
When love and parental affection tonight
Are awaiting to welcome thee now? [Refrain]

4 There is light at the cross of thy Saviour tonight,
A light streaming down from the skies;
Oh, haste, lest the darkness of death comes tonight,
