32. Free from Sin

1 From the gloom of unbelief,
Holy Spirit, hear my cry,
Send to me thy sweet relief,
Send, oh, send it, or I die;
Send the gospel’s light and love,
Send it quickly from above,
Light of blessed hope and joy,
Such as doubt can ne’er destroy.

Refrain:
Hallelujah! light comes in;
Hallelujah! free from sin!
Hallelujah! hope and joy
Such as doubt can ne’er destroy.

2 Doubt dispelled and faith complete,
Full of hope I travel on;
Solid rock beneath my feet,
Life eternal shall be won!
Spirit, help me on my way,
Spirit, help me ev’ry day;
Then, if doubt or sin assail,
With thy help I shall prevail. [Refrain]

3 Glory be to God on high,
to the Father and the Son,
And the Spirit; angels cry,
Worship the Almighty One!
Thus I worship ev’ry day;
Blessed hope comes in to stay,
Peace abides, a joyful guest,
And my soul has perfect rest. [Refrain]
