237. Blessed Is the Man

1 How blest and happy is the man
Who walketh not astray
In counsel of ungodly men,
Nor stand in sinner's way.

Refrain:
Blessed, blessed is the man that walketh not
In the counsel of the wicked,
But his delight is in the law of the Lord.
His delight is in the law of the Lord.

2 Nor sitteth in the scorner’s seat,
But places his delight
Upon God’s law, and meditates
On His word both day and night. [Refrain]

3 He shall be like a tree that grows
Set by a river’s side,
Which in its season yields its fruit,
And green its leaves abide. [Refrain]

4 And all he does shall prosper well;
The wicked are not so,
But like the chaff before the wind,
Are driven to and fro. [Refrain]
