1 The Saviour stands outside thy door,
Where He has stood so oft before;
O harden not thy sinful heart,
Lest He again from thee depart.

O let Him in, now let Him in,
He’ll cleanse thy life from ev’ry sin;
He’ll give thee grace for ev’ry day,
And evermore with thee shall stay.

2 In patience there He waiting stands,
With thorn-crowned brow and pierced hands;
And heart that beats with tenderness,
With strong desire thy soul to bless. [Refrain]

3 The better part shall be to choose
The Son of God, nor still refuse;
His call to heed, His name to bear,
