29. I'm Going Through

1 O Lord, I have started to walk in the light,
That shines on my pathway so clearly and so bright,
I’ve bade all the world and its follies adieu;
And now with my Saviour I mean to go thro’.

Refrain:
I’m going thro’, Jesus, I’m going thro’,
I’ll pay the price, whatever others do;
I’ll take the way with the Lords despised few,
I’ve started in Jesus, I’m going thro’.

2 How many once started to run in this race,
But with our dear Saviour they could not keep the pace;
While others accepted because it was new;
But not very many seem’d bound to go thro’. [Refrain]

3 I’d far rather follow my Saviour alone,
And have for my pillow, like Israel, a stone,
Than gain all the world and its pleasures pursue;
Than turn from the pathway and fail to go thro’. [Refrain]

4 O come then, my brother, and start in this way,
This world and its follies will surely never pay;
Then turn from your idols and join with the few,
Let’s start in with Jesus and those going thro’. [Refrain]
