52. Journeying Homeward

1 Journeying homeward, we joyously sing,
Eyes looking upward like daisies of spring,
Hearts full of gladness and earnest love,
Trusting the Father who reigneth above.

Refrain:
Marching to Zion, the city of gold,
There in his beauty the King to behold;
Bravely each trial we strive to bear,
Knowing the glory awaiting us there.

2 What tho’ the storm-clouds may threaten and lower?
What tho’ our friends pass away with the hour?
Storms never enter the pearly gates;
Jesus with friendship eternal awaits. [Refrain]

3 Pitfalls are waiting, but Jesus is near;
Cold are the waters, but Jesus will cheer;
So shall we walk in the way he guides,
Sure of the mercy that ever abides. [Refrain]
