137. Evening prayer

1 Jesus, tender Shepherd, hear me,
Bless thy little lamb tonight,
Thro' the darkness be thou near me,
Keep us safe till morning light.

2 All this day thy hand has led us,
And we thank thee for thy care,
Thou hast clothed us, warmed us, fed us,
Listen to our evening prayer.

3 May our sins be all forgiven,
Bless the friends we love so well,
Take us when we die, to heaven,
Happy there with thee to dwell.
