Text: | Unto the Hills |
Author: | Ada Blenkhorn |
Tune: | [Unto the hills I lift mine eyes] |
Composer: | D. W. Myland |
1 Unto the hills I lift mine eyes,
The shining hills of Paradise,
From whence the promised help I bring,
The present help of Israel’s King.
Refrain:
Unto the hills, the shining hills,
The hills of God, beyond the skies;
Unto the hills, the shining hills,
I will lift up in faith mine eyes.
2 God’s glory lights that blessed place,
There flow for me the streams of grace;
I forward press to win the prize,
While to the hills I lift my eyes. [Refrain]
3 I look, and from His throne divine
“The light of life” doth on me shine;
With joy it doth my spirit fill,
And in His light I know His will. [Refrain]
4 Unto the hills I lift my eyes,
Their glory just before me lies;
That glory soon I shall attain,
And enter there with Christ to reign. [Refrain]
5 He slumbers not, He will not sleep,
For God Himself my soul will keep
Until with joy I shall arise,
To meet my Lord beyond the skies. [Refrain]
