Text: | "One Family" |
Author: | Charles Wesley |
Tune: | UNA |
Composer: | E. J. Hopkins |
1 Let saints below in concert sing
With those to glory gone;
For all the servants of our King
In earth and heaven are one.
One family--we dwell in him--
One church above, beneath,
Though now divided by the stream,
The narrow stream of death;--
2 One army of the living God,
To his command we bow;
Part of the host have crossed the flood,
And part are crossing now.
Ev'n now to their eternal home
Some happy spirits fly;
And we are to the margin come,
And soon expect to die.
3 Ev'n now by faith, we join our hands
With those that went before,
And greet the ransomed, blessed bands
Upon the eternal shore.
Lord Jesus! be our constant guide:
And, when the word is given,
Bid death's cold flood its waves divide,
And land us safe in heaven.
