35. Glory to God

1 With glory lit, the midnight air
Revealed bright angels hov'ring there;
In fear beheld the raptured swains
When rose the heav'n-inspired strains,

Chorus:
Glory, glory, glory to God,
And peace to earth, and peace to earth,
Made glorious by the Saviour's birth,
by the Saviour's birth.

2 Then sweetly spoke th' angelic voice;
"Fear not; let heaven and earth rejoice;
The Child in Bethlehem's crib that lies
Is God, descended from the skies."

Chorus:
Glory, lory, glory to God,
And peace to earth, and peace to earth,
Made glorious by the Saviour's birth,
by the Saviour's birth.

3 The choirs of Heaven still bless the morn,
When God, through love for man, was born:
That God we humbly bow before,
And praise with angels, and adore.

Chorus:
Glory to God, glory to God,
And peace to earth, And peace to earth,
made glorious by the Saviour's birth,
by the Saviour's birth.
