190. Jesus Called the Children

1 Jesus called the children
Saying, “Come to Me”
In His arms He took them,
O, so tenderly;
Said unto His dear ones
Be ye like a child—
Enter heaven’s kingdom undefiled.

Refrain:
‘Tis the blood of Jesus,
Cleanseth from all sin,
Makes us pure and spotless,
Clean without, within;
Come and learn of Jesus,
He will lead the way,
Be your loving helper ev’ry day.

2 Jesus took the children,
Close into His arms
Laid His hand upon them,
Sooth’d them from alarms,
Gave to them His blessing,
Fraught with love divine;
Jesus make me now a child of Thine. [Refrain]

3 Jesus, dearest Jesus,
Watching from on high,
Noting ev’ry sorrow,
Hearing ev’ry sigh,
Giving sweetest comfort,
Calling, “Come to Me,
In my arms I’ll bear Thee tenderly.” [Refrain]
