64. We Pass But Once This Way

1 We are trav'lers in a journey,
Walking each our given road,
But our ways tho' they are many
Reach at last the bar of God;
And whatever fruit we bring Him,
When He calls us on that day,
We must gather on this journey,
For we pass but once this way.

Refrain:
For we pass but once this way,
For we pass but once this way,
We must gather on this journey,
For we pass but once this way.

2 If God's still small voice is calling,
Let us hear its pleading now,
Go, where-e'er His spirit loadeth,
Do what He would have us do;
And if we would gain a blessing,
Let us seek it while we may,
For the time is swiftly going,
And we pass but once this way. [Refrain]

3 Tho' we meet with pain and sorrow,
And the tempter try us sore,
When we reach the heav'nly city,
We should fear their pow'r no more;
For the storms which here assail us,
Enter not the realms of day,
And we ne'er again shall meet them,
For we pass but once this way. [Refrain]
