136. O Blessed Fields of Judah

1 O blessed fields of Judah,
Which once the Master trod,
The Son of Man so lowly,
And yet the Son of God.
He came with help and healing,
All promise to fulfill,
And He who trod those paths of yore,
Is friend and helper still.

Refrain:
Saviour, we bless Thee and praise Thee,
Ever Thy name adore;
Thou art our help e’er unfailing
As in the days of yore.

2 O sunlit hill of blessing,
Where once the Master taught,
And message from the highest,
To lowly hearted brought.
O sweet the words of promise,
Upon that holy hill,
And He who taught in days of yore,
Is friend and teacher still. [Refrain]

3 O Galilee so holy,
Where in His wondrous love,
He told of life eternal,
In royal realms above.
We too may seek to serve Him,
And do His blessed will,
And He who dwelt in Galilee,
Is friend and helper still. [Refrain]
