1 In days of youth so bright and fair,
Ere time hath left its trace of care,
Or sin its deadly work hath wrought,
Then lead me to the Rock.

2 When earthly pleasures charm me not,
And grief and sorrow are my lot,
May faith and hope the gloom dispel
