68. A Song in My Heart

1 There’s a song in my heart that my lips cannot tell,
And my soul is with happiness filled,
Since the Saviour has come in my life to foretell
The sweet treasures in the story for His child.

Refrain:
O would that the words might be given to me,
To show you how sweet ‘tis to dwell
With Jesus, who gave to my life this dear song,—
The song that my lips cannot tell.

2 O the peace and the joy of this song in my heart,
Fill my life with a blessedness new,
And I long for the wisdom and pow’r to impart
His great message—so wondrously true. [Refrain]

3 Now my life would be dreary and barren, indeed,
Should this sweetest of music be stilled,
For this song in my heart ever tells me how sweet
Is a life with such joyousness filled. [Refrain]
