1 The weak’ning pulse, the short’ning breath,
The last, faint flutt’ring sigh,
Why do we weep and call it death?
God’s children cannot die.

2 ‘Tis but the entrance into life,
With Jesus ever nigh,
‘Tis leaving toil and sin and strife,
