120. Lord, Within Thy Temple Fair

1 Lord, within Thy temple fair
On this day of days we meet,
Free from earthly toil and care
May we rest, in Thee complete.
When we sing our songs of praise,
When we listen to Thy word,
Show’r on us Thy heav’nly grace,
Own and bless us, gracious Lord.

2 When, before Thy mercy seat,
Pray’rs for pard’ning grace ascend,
Holy Spirit, intercede,
On our waiting hearts descend.
Fill us with a Saviour’s love,
All our souls for Heav’n prepare,
In the semblance of a dove
Rest upon our spirits here.

3 When we take our homeward way
May Thy pow’r to bless and keep
With us go through all the days,
When we wake and when we sleep.
And when Heaven’s glory land
Bursts upon our raptured gaze,
Grant us, Lord, at Thy right hand
Evermore to sing Thy praise.
