258 | The Hymnal, Revised and Enlarged, as adopted by the General Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America in the year of our Lord 1892#259 | 260 |
Text: | Arise, O Lord, and shine |
Author: | W. Hurn |
Tune: | [Arise, O Lord, and shine] |
Composer: | Rev. J. B. Dykes, Mus. Doc. |
1. Arise, O Lord, and shine
In all Thy saving might,
And prosper each design
To spread Thy glorious light:
Let healing streams of mercy flow,
That all the earth Thy truth may know.
2. Oh, bring the nations near,
That they may sing Thy praise;
Let all the people hear
And learn Thy holy ways:
Reign, mighty God, assert Thy cause,
And govern by Thy righteous laws.
3. Put forth Thy glorious power:
The nations then shall see,
And earth present her store,
In converts born to Thee:
God, our own God, His Church shall bless,
And earth be filled with righteousness.
Amen.
