Text: | O happy day, that stays my choice |
Author: | P. Doddridge |
Tune: | [O happy day, that stays my choice] |
Composer: | E. Miller, Mus. Doc. |
1 O happy day, that stays my choice
On Thee, my Saviour and my God;
Well may this glowing heart rejoice,
And tell Thy goodness all abroad.
2 Here rest, my oft-divided heart,
Fixed on thy God, thy Saviour, rest;
Who with the world would grieve to part
When called on angels' food to feast?
3 High Heaven that heard the solemn vow,
That vow renewed shall daily hear;
Till in life’s latest hour I bow,
And bless in death a bond so dear.
Amen.
