Between us and fires of youth;
Breathe, Holy Ghost, Thy fresh'ning gale
Our fevered brow in age to soothe.

2 For ever on our souls be traced
This blessing from the Saviour's hand,
A sheltering rock in memory's waste,
O'ershadowing all the weary land.
