395. O my Father, I would know thee

1 O my Father, I would know Thee
And Thy holy will;
From Thy fount my thirsty spirit
Daily fill.

2 I would turn my highest powers
Into service sweet;
For all ministry to others
Make me meet.

3 As the bird who scorns earth's sadness,
Mounting on the wing,
Would my soul, her fret o'ercoming,
Rise and sing.

4 Sharing thus the Master's spirit,
Following where He trod,
I would rise through joyous service
Unto God.

Amen.
