Text: | On Thy Ransomed Congregation |
Author: | Frederick William Foster, 1760-1835 |
Tune: | BATTY |
Composer: | J. Thommen |
1 On Thy ransomed congregation,
Lord, lift up Thy countenance;
Be our Help, Joy and Salvation;
Life and health to us dispense.
2 In each heart, O fix Thy dwelling;
There erect a monument
Of Thy love, all love excelling;
There fulfill Thy blest intent.
3 Take us under Thy protection,
Grant us to obey Thy voice,
Simply follow Thy direction,
To Thy will resign our choice.
4 Thus may we, as Thine anointed,
Walk ‘fore Thee in truth and grace
In the path Thou hast appointed,
Till we reach Thy dwelling place.
