Text: | Prevailing Prayer |
Author: | Mrs. F. G. Burroughs |
Tune: | [Would you know the secret] |
Composer: | E. S. Lorenz |
1 Would you know the secret
Of prevailing pray'r?
Take the things you ask for,
Hear your lord declare:
Chorus;
"When ye pray, believe,
You may then receive;
And the things you ask for,
You shall surely have."
2 Would you know the blessing
Of a joy replete?
Ask, it shall be given,
Answers clear and sweet. [Chorus]
3 'Tis our Lord's commandment,
"Ask, and ye shall have,"
Faith can move the mountains,
Bring forth from the grave. [Chorus]
4 Promises so precious,
Cannot fail his own;
Claim them, nothing doubting,
Grace is on the throne. [Chorus]
