214. The Sunbeams Shining Brightly

1 The sunbeams shining brightly
Have touched my sleepy eyes,
And told me very softly
That now it’s time to rise.
So safely and so sweetly,
I slept all thru the night;
And well and strong have wakened
To greet the morning light.

Refrain:
I’ll clasp my hands together,
And bow my head in pray’r;
And thank my heav’nly Father
For all His loving care.

2 For ‘tis my heav’nly Father
Who has so safely kept;
He watched in love above me,
As all the night I slept.
‘Tis He, too, sends the sunshine,
To make for us the day;
He makes me well and happy,
That I may work and play. [Refrain]
