1 Jesus is the sinner’s friend,
One on whom He may depend,
He has never failed to cleanse from guilt and woe,
If we trust His Holy Name,
We shall not be put to shame,
Jesus keeps the heart right, everywhere we go.

The tempter cannot lead my soul astray,

Yes, the Saviour keeps the heart right all the day.

2 Thro’ the shadow and the strife,
Thro’ the changing scenes of life,
With this Friend to guide me, I shall never fail,
All I need when sorely tried,
Is to keep close to His side,
Jesus keeps the heart right, sin cannot prevail. [Refrain]

3 Someday, in the realms above,
I shall see the King I love,
And behold the mansion builded there for me,
Clothed in glory made complete,
I shall sit at Jesus’ feet,
For He keeps the heart right, thro’ eternity. [Refrain]
