69. The Saviour Who Died for Me

1 There came to the earth a pilgrim,
With nowhere to lay His head;
A King with no royal palace,
He walked thro’ the fields instead.

Refrain:
The Savior who died for me,
So wonderful, how could it be!
My song shall forever be Jesus,
The Savior who died for me.

2 He carried the cross of sorrow,
Unmeasured the grief He bore;
The marks of my shame upon Him,
A crown, but of thorns, He wore. [Refrain]

3 His death for my life He offered,
His blood to redeem He gave;
Thro’ faith you may know its fullness,
His wonderful pow’r to save. [Refrain]

4 Some day I shall know the glory,
Of meeting Him face to face;
His presence shall be forever
My portion, thro’ saving grace. [Refrain]
