Text: | When at Last We Say Good-Bye |
Author: | Rev. A. H. Ackley |
Tune: | [When our race is run, and life's setting sun] |
Composer: | B. D. Ackley |
1 When our race is run,
And life’s setting sun
Casts its shadows o’er the sky;
We shall still endure,
If our hope is sure,
When at last we say “Goodbye.”
Refrain:
When at last we say goodbye,
When at last we say goodbye;
Shall it be with sighing,
Or with hope undying,
When at last we say goodbye?
2 Will our work be done,
And the battle won,
Will it mean a crown to die?
Or the awful fate
Of a soul too late,
When at last we say “Goodbye.” [Refrain]
3 Shall the dear ones left,
Of our love bereft,
Hope to greet us in the sky?
We may know today,
Jesus is the Way,
When at last we say “Goodbye.” [Refrain]
