1 A crown of life laid up above,
A crown of glory bright!
A crown whose peerless radiance
Outshines the beams of light.

O wond’rous love,
A crown already mine!

2 A crown of life for one of earth,
O Saviour, can it be,
That such a gift of sovereign grace
Has been reserved for me? [Chorus]

3 A royal crown, not to adorn
Alone the head of kings!
A crown that thro’ eternal life
Immortal honor brings! [Chorus]

4 A crown of life with many stars,
Dear Saviour, shall it be,
That I may win a cluster bright
By turning souls to Thee? [Chorus]

5 A crown of life from Jesus’ hand,
Without a single gem,
Would rob it of its highest joy
And cause a blush of shame. [Chorus]
