Text: | Graven on Thy Palms |
Author: | D. B. Purinton |
Tune: | [If graven on thy palm] |
Composer: | W. H. Doane |
1 If graven on thy palm,
Dear Lord, I be,
If from thine open hand
Thy face I see;
No other face than thine
Shall fix my sight,
Or fill my raptured soul
With heav’nly light.
2 When graven on thy palm,
Lord, I shall be
Held in thy loving hand
From danger free;
All evil ways I leave,
Lord, thee to own,
Myself I freely give
To thee alone.
3 If graven on thy palm,
Lord, I am sure,
Whatever may betide,
My hope secure—
That I shall ever be,
Kept by thy love,
Till thy dear face I see
In realms above.
