35. My Best Friend

1 I can’t explain how Jesus left His Father’s home above,
To die upon the cross of Calvary;
But his I know, He saves me; in my heart there’s perfect love,
From all sin He sets me free.

Refrain:
He is my best Friend,
He is my best Friend;
On Calv’ry’s cross He bought me,
From sin and shame He bro’t me,
Oh, Jesus is my best Friend!

2 I can’t explain the miracles, how water turned to wine,
Nor how the lepers from their spots were clean;
But this I know, He satisfied and filled this heart of mine
Far beyond my fondest dream. [Refrain]

3 I can’t explain how storms were stilled or graves gave up their dead,
Nor how the blind from birth were made to see;
But this I know, this soul of mine is free from fear and dread,
A miracle He wrought in me. [Refrain]
