1 It is hard to keep the narrow path within,
To withhold thy steps from luring ways of sin;
There is One who will the conflict surely win,
For the battle is the Lord’s.

2 Do you pass thro’ clouds of gloom and discontent?

That the hosts of evil walk with joy apace?
