1. Ye valiant soldiers of the cross,
Ye happy praying band,
Tho' in this world you suffer loss,
Press on to Canaan's land.

Let us never mind the scoffs,
For we've all got the cross to bear;
And the crown will brighter shine,
When we have the crown, have the crown to wear.

2. All earthly pleasures we'll forsake,
When heav'n appears in view;
In Jesus' strength we'll undertake
To fight our passage through. [Chorus]

3. O what a glorious shout there'll be,
When we arrive at home;
Our friends and Jesus we shall see,
