Text: | How Sweet the Thought |
Author: | H. L. |
Tune: | [How sweet the tho’t, while here below] |
Composer: | Harry Loper |
1 How sweet the tho’t, while here below,
When thro’ the mists we’re called to go,
We have a Friend to guide the way,
To lead us home to endless day!
Refrain:
Yes, we can trust our all to him,
He knows the way, tho’ rough and dim;
No thorns that have not pierced his feet;
He’ll help us bear each trial we meet.
2 What condescension, O what love!
That he should leave his home above,
And suffer death on Calvary
Our souls to save and set us free! [Refrain]
3 Amazing love! how can it be,
That he should die for one like me!
Now humbly at his feet I fall,
And gladly give to him my all. [Refrain]
4 O blessed rest, before unknown,
My heart’s his home and his alone;
I’ll trust him where I cannot see,
For he knows what is best for me. [Refrain]
